Smokey the cardiac cat needs a new home. Smokey adopted Waikato hospital as his home 12 years ago. He visits the wards regularly, and comforts patients in the cardiac unit. But Smokey is 14-years old now, and he's been getting sick in the ward, and doesn't always make it outside to do his business. Smokey has become a health hazard.

For the past five years at this time of the year, Bruffin the Mallard duck has waddled into a Nelson bakery for morning and afternoon tea. Bruffin quacks until he gets what he came for, a tasty treat from the free sample box, then flies off.
