Burt Munro is a New Zealand motorcycling legend. From his home in Invercargill, he worked for 20 years to modify a 1920 Indian motorcycle that set land speed records in 1967 that still stand today. The Burt Munro Challange in Southland started 5 years ago to honor Munro. Watching some of the races is Munro's daughter, 80-year-old Gwen Henderson. But she has another reason to be in Southland. A keen artist, Henderson has her first ever solo art exhibition at the Riverton Arts Centre.

Napier has scored a musical coup by getting the rights to host the City Showcase, which is based on one of the biggest music events held in London. Starting today, more than 40 local, national and even Australian bands will perform throughout the city, competing for the top prize, an invitation to the London Showcase next year.
