My Wedding and Other Secrets is a film is based on the acclaimed 2005 documentary "Banana and a Nutshell"; director by Kiwi born Chinese, Roseanne Liang.
It's Roseanne's first feature; and is about her real life story of the cross-cultural relationship with her European Kiwi boyfriend Stephen. It involves his efforts to be accepted by her traditional Chinese Parents; in fact Stephen learnt to speak Mandarin to ask for Roseanne's hand in marriage!
Producer John Barnett - who has an eye for a good story - approached Roseanne after seeing her documentary in 2005 and basically said 'do you want to make a film; and six years later, we have My Wedding and Other Secrets.
