Long before American Idol and Britain's Got Talent, a Japanese television programme started inviting amateur singers, some from all over the world,  to perform to an audience of millions.  
There's one catch. You have to be fluent in Japanese. Sam Bennett is a fluent Japanese speaker. The 19-year-old from Nelson sent his audition tapes  and he got the call to fly to Toykyo to sing on Nodojiman World. Sam's the first new Zealander to be accepted on the Japanese talent show.

Wellington collective, Fly My Pretties released a new single and video today - a new version of their song, "Singing in My Soul", which originally appeared on the their debut album, Live At Bats.
This new version was performed and recorded live at Wellington's St James theatre during the 2011 Fly My Pretties IV tour.
