2:10 The Bats - Debs Searchfield is an Auckland Zoo keeper who is taking her work home. A set of twins whose mother was unable to look after them, needed feeding every four hours to survive. Deb volunteered. She's up at night, making sure the threatened mammals get regular feeds. She hasn't got a tiger cub or baby monkey at home. Debs Searchfield is looking after twin Lesser short tailed bats. The two were born at Auckland Zoo in November, weighing just 4 grams.. about the weight of a 20 cent coin.  The babies are now at a healthy weight, and tonight they will meet their parents for the first time. They will be allowed in the enclosure with the 3 other Lesser short tailed bats.
