2:10 Ice Caps - Zac Lyon: Three years ago, Hamilton twins Zac and Josh Lyon came up with a plan to walk across Antarctica. This despite having no mountaineering or ice climbing experience. Three years on and their plan has grown somewhat ..they now want to walk the world's four ice caps - in Greenland, Antarctica, Patagonia and the North Pole. Along the way they recruited world class rower Rob Hamill to help them, and in six days time, the 22 year olds fly out to Greenland to begin the first leg of their ice cap mission..
2:20 The Spider - Phil Sirvid: Spider enthusaists are excited about a large spider found in the Pongaroa forest, in the Tararua District, which - if photographs are anything to go by, is as large as a man's hand.
The spider was initially identified as a burrowing spider - but Spider Expert Phil Sirvid, now says it could be a new species of spider. The Te Papa Science Collection Manager gets hundreds of requests each year to identify arachnids of all shapes and sizes - but he's particularly interested in this spider which looks to be a cousin of the tarantula.
