"The more identities a man has, the more they express the person they conceal." So said famous fictional spook George Smiley in John LeCarre's Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy. But the master of spy thrillers - the author who created Smiley - is actually David John Moore Cornwell. And Cornwell may be more accomplished at changing personas and just as interesting as any character he has written about as John LeCarre. A former member of the British Intelligence Service, MI5, he has written 23 books over the past 50 years including the classic The Spy Who Came In From The Cold. Author Adam Sisman has written several biographies and takes on perhaps his biggest challenge in his new book, John le Carré: The Biography. He peels back some of the mysteries about the man who has thrilled millions of readers over the last 5 decades.
