A new image for Auckland

Our biggest city is set to get a new look – but it's going to cost – to the tune of about $500,000.

The Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development branding project 'Global Auckland' is well underway. Its mission – to come up with a new image for the city.

“What is the story of Auckland that will resonate with Aucklanders, the people that live here, so that we have a sense of ownership of it? What is the story that we take ... to the world that allows us to compete in a global market?"

The general manager of destination and marketing Vivien Bridgwater tells Jesse Mulligan how Auckland can benefit from refining its international brand.
