New Twizel street lights impacting on dark sky reserve

Twizel residents are becoming increasingly frustrated over bright street lights in a new subdivision which are affecting the region's natural starlight spectacular. There are restrictions in the area on lighting and what's allowed in order to preserve the Aoraki McKenzie International Dark Sky Reserve. Resident Ken Chilton first brought the matter to the council's attention 12 months ago.
