This Way Up: Wandersearch

From Afternoons, 3:35 pm on 23 March 2017

About two-thirds of people with dementia sometimes wander and get lost. It's a major problem facing carers, relatives, and the rescue services who have to find them. And if they're not found within 24 hours, then half of these wanderers end up seriously injured or even dead. This Way Up's Simon Morton visited the police search and rescue team in Auckland to see how some locally designed technology, previously used to track kiwis in the wild, is now being used to track people.
