The Future of Biosecurity

From Afternoons, 1:24 pm on 1 June 2017

Scientists have been working to predict what the future of biosecurity will look like. The team of international researchers proposed 14 major issues they believe will shape biosecurity and border protection in the coming decades. And they say we need to prepare for more incursions of pests, diseases and weeds driven by our rapidly transforming world. The study is called Invasion Science: A Horizon Scan of Emerging Challenges and Opportunities. New Zealand contributor, Professor Philip Hulme, is from the Bio-Protection Research Centre at Lincoln University.
