Vallkyrie are a three-piece group from Auckland - Omer Gilroy on lead vocals and percussion, Rebel Reid on guitar, keyboard and vocals, and Ladi6 collaborator Brandon Haru on percussion and vocals.
They're are named after the female figures who choose who lives and who dies in battle, and accompanies the dead to Valhalla.
"It was just Rebel and I to begin with, and we just wanted something very female, and empowering, and we love mythology especially Norse mythology ... and then Brandon came along and we were like well, you're a male so you're going to be our viking in the band."
