It can be the difference between a hit and a miss, a great video can elevate a dud song. But currently videos aren't included in the charts.
That's about to change in the UK, with the singles charts set to include video views for the first time, starting this weekend.
Paul Kennedy has been the chart manager for Recorded Music New Zealand for the past couple of decades and tells us whether this could be a step for us here.
