Talk the Walk - The Tararua S-K traverse

From Afternoons, 3:17 pm on 7 September 2018

Tim Sutton loves mountain running and tells us about the Tararua S-K traverse, widely accepted as one of the biggest "single- push" challenges in New Zealand.

The S-K is a North-South traverse of the Tararua Mountain Range.

S is for Schormann, the original track beginning the adventure. This has now been replaced by Putara, but the name stuck and tradition has retained the S.

K is for Kaitoke, where successful attempts end.
