The Arizona indie band Calexico are in New Zealand for two concerts.
They call into our Auckland studio to perform 'Under the Wheels' from their new album The Thread That Keeps Us.
Calexico have made nine albums to date, and consistency is key, singer Joey Burns says.
"Good instruments, great musicians… and allowing all the magic that happens within the band to be heard and felt on a record."
Auckland is a great town for music, he says.

The band first visited back in 1997 when they were supporting American songwriter Barbara Manning, who is a "huge New Zealand aficionado".
On that tour, Barbara Manning and Calexico recorded with musicians around the country for the 1999 record In New Zealand.
