Barry Blake is a linguist and Professor Emeritus at La Trobe University. He's an expert on all aspects of language, and a well known authority on Australian Aboriginal languages. He's made a special study of the practice of being obscure in what we say, and how we write. It is the subject of his new book, Secret Language; Codes, Tricks, Spies, Thieves, and Symbols.
