The story of insulin

From Afternoons, 2:20 pm on 13 October 2010

Insulin was the world's first miracle drug, and something we now take for granted. In earlier times, anyone with diabetes was put on a diet of salad and eggs, and were left thin and constantly hungry. Then in 1921, a Canadian Doctor made the discovery that would change the lives of diabetics around the world. The New York Historical society has just opened a special exhibit called Breakthrough: The Dramatic Story of the Discovery of Insulin.
