Our Changing World - Don Merton

Don Merton - the man who saved the Chatham Island black robin from extinction - passed away last week. He is also famous worldwide for his work with kakapo and saddlebacks. In his last interview, recorded with Alison Ballance just before Christmas, Don spoke of his early work with saddlebacks and the impact the 'tragedy of Big South Cape Island' had on him.
