Last time London hosted the Games was in 1948, just after the War - there were amazing stories, a Dutch sprinter Fanny Blankers-Koen, 'The Flying Mum' (she was a 30 year old mother of 3) won 4 gold medals. And American, Bob Mathias won gold at the age of 17 - the youngest male ever to win an Olympic gold medal.
