Highwic house fashion exhibition

From Afternoons, 2:17 pm on 6 September 2012

In one of New Zealand's finest timber Gothic houses, there are fashion treasures from another era on display. Auckland's Highwic house is hosting a exhibition that pulls together pieces from historic homes all over the upper North Island. Each item, has a story to tell, from the gamourous gowns worn in the late 1800s by Eliza Buckland, who built Highwic house, to a humble shirt that may be the earliest surviving European style garment in New Zealand.
