CHTV3 opening broadcast-original

June first, 1961 the New Zealand broadcast service began transmitting television programmes to the people of Christchurch for the first time. For two hours a night, two nights a week people lucky enough to have a TV set could watch shows like Bonanza, Lassie, I Love Lucy, Danger Man and Perry Mason. Alan Dunford was the annoucer on that very first broadcast.
