Scott Watson's family have vowed to continue fighting for his freedom, despite yesterday's news that his first bid for a pardon had failed. David Shearer has headed-off his party's proposal for women-only candidate selections. But commentators predict a backlash from some party members angered that the decision has been taken out of their hands. Parliament will have a conscience vote on the SkyCity pokies-for-a-convention-centre legislation.
