Topics- The government will fund the re-entry into Pike River mine. Energy and Resource minister Simon Bridges announced $7.2 million will be put towards exploring the tunnel in the mine. The required number of signatures have been collected, the petition has been handed in, and now the Government has a month to decide how and when a referendum on asset sales will happen. Prime Minister, John Key, says a referendum is a waste of money, but one will be held in the next 12 months.
