These roles are called "natural helpers" and a new campaign is in the works to help develop their supporting skills when it comes to discussing difficult topics - like suicide. New Zealand writer Eleanor Catton has been shortlisted for the Man Booker prize for her book The Luminaries. Someone who probably knows how she feels is Keri Hulme who won the prize for the Bone People in 1985, Keri joins us.
