Your Place - Bethells Beach

There's not much here apart from the beach, the surf club, a rural fire station and the much-loved Bethells caravan cafe. Surfing is the main pastime, along with fishing and bush walking. It's maybe not as famous as sister beaches Piha and Muriwai, but it's a fantastic community. From all accounts everyone at Bethells knows all the children who get on the school bus in the morning. Back in the 1950s only two families lived here, today it's 200. Back then land was cheap - but that's not the case now.
