Topics, the Government has rejected a coroner's recommendations, intended to promote cyclists' safety. Documents show the Associate Transport Minister Michael Woodhouse ruled out pursuing the suggestions of Wellington coroner Ian Smith when he called for an overhaul of cycle safety last February, following the death of former national road policing manager Superintendent Steve Fitzgerald. The police have confirmed the Whale Oil blogger, Cameron Slater, has filed a complaint after receiving death threats.
