Simon Morris looks at the stories behind the making of two memorable works – a genuine Christmas classic, and a film known affectionately as “the Citizen Kane of bad movies”. He also reviews a much-touted feelgood movie.
The disaster artist is a tribute to Tommy Wiseau, the writer-director-star of the notoriously bad The Room. Directed by star James Franco, and featuring just about everyone in Hollywood, including Seth Rogen, Bryan Cranston and Sharon Stone.
The man who invented Christmas is about how Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas carol. Starring Dan Stevens and Christopher Plummer.
And Wonder tells of a brave little kid who overcomes adversity in his first year at school. Stars Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Jacob (Room) Tremblay.
