AT THE MOVIES #720                   TOLD BY THE WINNERS

Simon Morris looks at two films about historic figures who’ve often been sidetracked by history.  And once again a movie based on a popular video-game proves a loser on the big screen.

Tomb raider is a reboot of the old Angelina Jolie series based on a video game.  Stars Alicia Vikander, Dominic West and Kristen Scott Thomas.

The death of  Stalin sees TV satirist Armand Ianucci do to 1950s Russian politics what he did with the modern English and American versions (Veep, The thick of it).  Stars Steve Buscemi, Paul Whitehouse and Andrea Risborough.

And director Garth Davis talks about his film about one of the most controversial characters in the New Testament – Mary Magdalene.
