Simon Morris tries not to be disappointed by three promising films – from a talented film-maker, from a talented cast, and from a book that inspired a hit Australian musical.
The Predator sees maverick film-maker Shane Black attempt to breathe new life into the Eighties monster movie.
A Simple Favour is an adaptation of a best-selling novel, starring the popular Anna Kendrick (Pitch perfect), Blake Lively (The Shallows) and Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians).
And veteran Australian director Bruce Beresford (Breaker Morant, Don’s Party, Driving Miss Daisy) talks about his adaptation of another popular novel – Ladies in Black, set in a Sydney department store in the late Fifties.
