Morning markets for Monday 23 June 2014

Economic reports on consuemr spending and confidence will guide the market when released this week. Australia's key 200 Index closed down nearly one percent on Friday, but shares are expected to firm up when the market opens and reacts to Wall Street's records later this morning. The growing turmoil in Iraq unsettled New Zealand shares which ended down last week, the benchmark Top 50 Index diving 47 points, or nearly 1 percent, to 5145.
