Number of young people in court drops 17% in a single year

The number of children and teenagers being charged in court has dropped by 17% in a single year. Figures from Statistics New Zealand show the number of people aged 10 to 16 charged with a crime in the year ended in June was 2268, the lowest level in 21 years.
