Covid-19: Masks mandatory for Akl public transport, NZ flights

From Checkpoint, 5:07 pm on 16 November 2020

Dust off your face masks - the government has made them mandatory, but only in certain situations.

From Thursday if you're travelling on public transport around Auckland or on a flight anywhere in the country, you'll have to wear a mask.

Any public transport in and out of Auckland will also be covered, as will rideshare and taxi drivers, but not their passengers.

Those under the age of 12, school buses and people with certain medical conditions will be exempt.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says while New Zealand has Covid-19 under control, it continues to rage overseas.
