The Maori Affairs Select Committee is delighted with the number of submissions it's received, for its inquiry into the status and well being of Maori children; Meanwhile there's concern by community groups, some of which work with Maori families, at the lack of time the Government has given them to make submissions on the Social Security Youth Support and Work Focus Amendment Bill; A new chairperson has been appointed to take over the organisation which represents the majority of Kura Kaupapa throughout the country; An award winning Auckland based Maori artist, Reuben Paterson, hopes his current exhibition in Dunedin which includes signature glitter canvases, will shock audiences and alter their perspective and perception of artwork which uses traditional and non conventional materials.
