The body overseeing the fishing quota owned by Maori is questioning how practical it will be to re-flag foreign charter fishing vessels that are only in New Zealand waters for short periods; The Tauranga iwi, Ngati Ranginui, has signed its Treaty settlement with the Crown, in a ceremony attended by the Maori King and Government Ministers; The co-leader of the Maori Party, Tariana Turia is calling for all New Zealanders to recognise Matariki as part of their national identity; The Morikaunui Incorporation in Whanganui is appealing to shareholders to contact them and update their details because the number of unclaimed shares now stand at more than 750-thousand dollars.
