The Minister of Education, Hekia Parata, has told secondary school teachers that students should be learning New Zealand history, including Maori experiences; The recently retired headmaster of Auckland Grammar School, is praising a project that's enabled Maori and Pacific Island students from rural communities to attend the school; The Lake Waikaremoana Hapu Restoration Trust says a partnership with the Wairoa District Council is making good progress, in re-developing a local reserve for the benefit of the whole community.
