Epicurean Auckland: Otello's
Otello's is named after the founder of a historical artisan meat shop in Bologna - though Paolo and Luca come from the Lombardia region, south of Milan near the Appenino mountains. They each grew up with an abundance of artisan meats - and when they met at a barbeque four year ago in Auckland, they'd both brought along Italian meats they were making at home. So they decided to join forces and form Otello's Artisan Cured Meats. Amelia Nurse visited Paolo and Luca at one of their two purpose built Auckland factories to learn what makes their meat so special.
