How Does Your Garden Grow?, On the Beach & Gone Country
John Bluck left a busy urban life and moved to a small country village north of Auckland. He has drawn on his life to write two series.
The first, Gone Country, describes John's attempts to learn the art of living rurally, the second, On The Beach, explores the beach and its place in the hearts of New Zealanders, and the most recent, How does Your Garden Grow? presents the love and fervour of a recent convert who can see how much gardening has to offer society.

John Bluck was born in Hawkes Bay, educated at Napier Boys High School, Canterbury University and Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge Mass. He's had interwoven careers in journalism and the Ministry, spending time as a reporter in Boston (USA) as a journalism tutor and chaplain at the Wellington Polytech, and as an editor of a number of publications including the World Council of Churches "One World" magazine in Geneva. His ecclesiastical career started in Gisborne and took him to posts as varied as Director of Communications at the World Council of Churches, Professor of Pastoral Theology and Communication at Dunedin's Knox Theological Seminary, Dean of Christchurch Cathedral and ultimately 14th Anglican Bishop of Waiapu. After resigning his See in 2008, he left moved to a rural setting near Warkworth which is the scene of this series of writings.
