Claudia Orange is the author of the (updated in 2011) book: The Treaty of Waitangi (Bridget Williams Books). A work that has shaped the way many people understand the place of the treaty in New Zealand history and, even more importantly, its on-going role in defining the relationship between Maori and Pakeha. Claudia Orange is also a former editor of the New Zealand Dictionary of Biography and director of Te Papa's Research Group, spoke to Chris Laidlaw  about the individuals, writers and thinkers who have influenced her work and life.
