Members' Day sees Labour MP David Parker's Minimum Wage (Contractor Remuneration) Amendment Bill pass its second reading by 61 votes 60 - with Labour, the Greens, New Zealand First, United Future and the Maori Party in favour - and National and ACT opposed; Marama Fox's Oaths and Declarations (Endorsing the Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi) Amendment Bill fails to pass first reading by 71 votes to 50 - with National joined by New Zealand First in voting against the bill; Mark Mitchell's Social Security (Stopping Benefit Payments for Offenders who Repeatedly Fail to Comply with Community Sentences) Amendment Bill passes first reading by 61 votes to 60 with support from National and ACT; Government Administration Committee hears public submissions on Andrew Little's Healthy Homes Guarantee Bill (No 2) - including from NZUSA, UNICEF and Wellington Renters United; Mr Little fields questions on his bill from his Labour colleague Phil Twyford; Immigration and housing issues raised in Question Time and General Debate.
