Barry Coates replaces Kevin Hague off the Greens list. Labour's Mount Roskill MP, Phil Goff, gives valedictory speech, resigning after 34 years in the House to become Auckland's new mayor. Questions for ministers include controversial topics such as measurement of child poverty and a report on fighting and contraband in Mount Eden prison. Requests for snap debates on both topics declined. Electoral Amendment Bill given a first reading and sent to the Justice and Electoral Committee for submissions, to be reported back by February 13 2017. Twenty-three bills emerging from the Judicature Amendment Bill given a third reading.
