Fiji interim PM

Fiji is operating under Emergency Rule until early June, after the measure, first brought in with the abrogation of the Constitution and the sacking of the judiciary at Easter, was extended. The military commander, Commodore Frank Banimarama, continues to head the military lead regime amid strict media censorship of all political news.

Philippa Tolley and Megan Whelan travelled to Suva to find out what life is like under Emergency Regulations for those living in the capital. They returned to ask why New Zealand should care about what is going on in one of its Pacific neighbours.
