Auckland has just a year left to morph itself into the super-hyped Super City that's promised to do everything from save the economy to cut traffic jams.

But some say the government is moving too fast and that there's not enough time to do the job well.

No one yet knows what it will mean for Aucklanders' rates bill and there are fears locals are just guinea pigs in a hasty experiment.
