Up to 90% of our prison inmates may be 'functionally illiterate', with a learning disability such as dyslexia. So how are our school children with learning challenges doing within our education system? How are their parents coping with decreases in subsidised support and teacher aid time? Lynda Chanwai-Earle meets school children with specific learning challenges and looks at whether our education system is supporting or failing these vulnerable youth.
