Children with Learning Challenges - full length documentary

From Children With Learning Challenges, 2:00 pm on 17 December 2013

Up to 90% of our prison inmates may be 'functionally illiterate', with a learning disability such as dyslexia. So how are our school children with learning challenges doing within our education system? How are their parents coping with decreases in subsidised support and teacher aid time? Inequity in education also seems to exist for high needs children living in lower socio-economic areas. Thoughts from parents, schools, service providers and the children themselves, with responses from the Ministry of Education. Lynda Chanwai-Earle takes a look at whether our education system is serving or failing these vulnerable children.
