3:00 Classic Concert: Sonny Landreth - Grant Street

Recorded at the Grant Street dance hall in Lafayette, Louisiana, this 2004 set showcases Sonny Landreth's dynamic and lyrical slide guitar playing style. His unorthodox guitar style comes from the way he simultaneously plays slide and makes fingering movements on the fret board. He served time with zydeco king Clifton Chenier and in John Hiatt's band The Gonners, before linking up with the veteran rhythm section of bass player David Ranson and drummer Kenneth Blevins to form this trio. Real, live, roadhouse blues recorded back in his hometown (Sugarhill)
