By this afternoon the tax cuts promised for the next two years will be history. Contributions to the Superannuation Fund will be suspended for a lot longer than that, likely up to a decade or more, as John Key's Government fights to pull the economy out of recession. Finance Minister Bill English has also taken the razor to any long term spending increases in the shadow of the worst global economic conditions in six decades.
