The animal rights group that secretly filmed bobby calves being bashed and thrown about at a pet food factory is unhappy the man convicted of their abuse is being sent to prison.
Noel Erickson was originally given 10 months home detention and 200 hours of community work on 10 charges of extreme cruelty to more than 100 calves last year.
But Ministry for Primary Industries appealed and yesterday a High Court judge imposed a two year prison sentence instead.
