Engineers say an aftershock could bring a Wellington office building down.
They have been working through the night to figure out how to bring down the badly damaged high-rise office block.
The 10-storey building on Molesworth Street has been cordoned off since Tuesday evening, after a major structural beam fractured like a bone in the earthquakes.
