Sonya Rockhouse, whose son Benjamin died in the Pike River Mine disaster says she's feeling really positive with the release of new footage of the mine's drift, which she says proves the mine is safe to enter. Lawyer for some of the Pike River families questions why the police sat for years on hours of film of mines rescue staff operating a robot in the mine. Nigel Hampton QC is calling on the Prime Minister to extend the terms of reference and allow people to re-enter the mine. The Prime Minister Bill English says he has asked police for answers today about the leaked footage of two workers inside the Pike River mine. A "shady, unfair situation". The spokesperson for Choose Clean Water is unimpressed that the information on how the new water standards compare to the existing standards has not been made available to the public ahead of the deadline for public submissions on the proposed new water quality standards.
