Sports drink backed by sports stars falls foul of sugar rules

A sports drinks that's backed by a galaxy of elite New Zealand sporting stars has fallen foul of government sugar guidelines - it doesn't have enough. SOS Hydration's been told it must have five times as much sugar added to meet the definition of an electrolyte drinks. Its Co-founder Thomas Mayo says the product would be pulled from shelves and it would have to pay $100,000 if it didn't comply with the guidelines.
